Shirli Ender-Büyükbay
Ender-Buyukbay is at her last phase of completing Doctorate (PhD) degree in Human Resources Management at the University of Bahcesehir. She attained her graduate (Masters) degree on Educational Leadership at Bahcesehir University, and undergraduate degree on English Teaching at Marmara University.
She supports the philosophy of “happy employees - high perform”, and “Life, is the period of time between birth and death. It’s up to us how to live it”. She is in process of completing her PhD dissertation, emphasizing the impact of employee well-being, in the human resources management and organizational performance relationship. Apart from practice and trainings, she is interested in the fields of leadership, talent management, performance management, organizational behavior (industrial psychology), positive psychology, mindfulness, work-life balance/integration. She currently carries academic research and lecturing at university and corporate context under these topics.
She defines herself as a trainer, researcher, lecturer, and mentor. Based on “If you can’t measure it, you can’t improve it” philosophy, supports the implementation of systematic evaluation process at each HR practice –training, talent management, performance and compensation management. She provides project-based consultancy and services within topics as quality assurance, project cycle management and evaluation, and evaluation of training programs.
She has begun work life, 1996, as a teacher of English, mainly working with high school students at various schools under the Ministry of Education. Apart from her job description, she has carried out research work, -needs analysis, change management, organizational development, and leadership under Total Quality Management (TQM) activities, and has taken the leadership of organizational change for the integration of ICT into education system within her institution.
During 2007-2012 years, Ender-Buyukbay has worked as a project expert at the European Union Projects department, the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education. She has gained proficiency in various topics related to EU affairs –structure, historical development, values of EU; as well as development and management of EU projects, as IPA (Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance), ISTKA (Istanbul Development Agency), national and international projects (LLP). Within this period, she has delivered trainings and consultancies to target beneficiaries, on project cycle management and EU affairs; has created a wide network of cooperation with educators and leaders from Turkish and European Universities, high schools, and educational institutions; has developed and run projects involving topics as inclusive education, educational leadership, entrepreneurship, career guidance and development, technology-based creative learning and teaching, plagiarism and referencing, etc. She has voluntarily terminated her part within the Ministry in 2015, after fruitful and demanding years of work.
Married and a mother of a daughter, Ender-Buyukbay actively participates in supporting various social associations, and is fluent in Turkish, French and Hebrew.
